A BILL to amend article one, chapter five of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
by adding thereto a new section, designated section twenty- eight, relating to the governor; and providing for the
expiration of administrative bodies established by order of
the governor within one hundred eighty days of the end of
the term of office of the governor whose order created the
administrative body.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article one, chapter five of the code of West Virginia,
one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by
adding thereto a new section, designated section twenty-eight, to
read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. THE GOVERNOR.
§5-1-28. Expiration of administrative bodies created by order of the governor.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this code to the
contrary, on and after the effective date of this section, any
administrative body established by order of the governor shall
expire one hundred eighty days after the end of the term of
office of the governor whose order created the administrative
body, unless an earlier expiration date for the administrative
body is specified by the order.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide that
administrative bodies created by order of the governor expire
within one hundred eighty days of the end of the term of office
of the governor whose order created the administrative body.
